OUR MISSION

Volunteers for PAWS Farm, Inc. is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to restore the buildings and property and support the operation of Paws Farm through fundraising efforts with the intention and hope of bringing back educational interaction with animals and nature. Our goal is to have PAWS Farm’s original mission statement become a reality once again :

“Just as a twig is bent, the tree is inclined."  Alexander Pope - 1731

What Alexander Pope said in 1731 about shaping young lives is still applicable today. What is learned in childhood affects us as we grow. Appreciating nature and the animals’ role in it helps us to understand how we can protect our own future. At PAWS Farm Nature Center, children are encouraged to look, listen and touch. Families and school groups, congregations and senior citizens, all visit an historic farmhouse, complete with ice house, smoke house and dairy barn. They interact with farm animals - sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, miniature pigs and miniature horses.

With the help and support of our community, we are hopeful that the doors to PAWS Farm will reopen to the public once again. We could not have come this far without community support and involvement and we hope to have continued support on this journey, through volunteerism and donations.
